As many of you know I make a blazer for each of my major shows.

AND as this last was a Major show of major shows I made this here beauty

Here are a few of the steps in the process:

[Yes that second one is a picture of me. I mean come on!! who wants a jacket of Uncle Sam?!?! Uncle LUKE...now that is a different story. [why does that make me sound like a creeper?]

And then I made that into a piece of applique:

AND then that got sewn onto the back of the blazer on the Long arm sewing machine:

you can borrow it anytime you want.

My dear Friend Michele took me and a few friends on a tour of the Simplicity floor in Manhattan. There is two separate sides, one for the pattern people and one for the craft people. She is on the craft side, but she let us take a gander through the other side too.

I have asked them to save the muslin mock-up pieces from the pattern makers to make a project out of. I think using cast off material like that to make a monochrome quilt will be lovely.

I had a meeting with the Curator at the Museum of Arts and Design.
[WAHWHHA!!!]

He asked me questions about my work [Meaning he looked through enough to find some things he was interested in!} and said positive things[I had a pat on the back by the curator of the Institution best suited to show my work in The City of New York!!!!!]

I took myself out for a celebration Hamburger.

I had the pleasure to make it out to Pickle road studios last week to record a podcast with the [in]famous Mark Lipinski

I took my friend Nathan Vincent with me.

That was the face we made most of the time. Bemused at Mark and trying to keep up.

He plied us with snacks and booze, I am not sure it helped.

I am working on the design for a four finger ring. I had to go get all the fingers on my right hand measured so it fits just right.

I went to this cute silver smith shop in the East village [NYC] and got them measured.

[12, 11, 9, 7 in case you wondered.]

I am so pumped. I think this will be such a great addition to my ensamble. and the concepts of branding and marketing in my work to date.

An artists first Solo NY show is a big deal.

I dont know how many folks came to the opening, but I can say that we dried the bar twice and ran out of 300 cups.

I made a blazer of me as Uncle Sam for the opening.

I had a food table, a bar and a live jazz band! This was more of a party than an opening. people came and stayed rather than came, gandered and left. [maybe the booze...na!]

I had such a great night!!

My best friend visiting the Eli Alexander Gallery. In his birthday trip to NYC.

I’m making apple cider molasses for use in delicious cocktails.

My favorite Brooklyn hangout spot uses it in a drink there so I thought I’d try it since I’m sitting on the couch all day anyway resting off the opening Friday.

Looks like a half gallon reduces down to about 3 cups.

Though it’s potent so you don’t need much.
