American nostalgia
This is a set of quilts I made a few years ago for an exhibition in central California in response to a survey I sent out. I asked what evoked a nostalgia for America. I made a set of quilts from those 700 responses. I learned that there is no small set of icons that comprise American Nostalgia. I learned a few things through this process.

90" X 50" This is part of my American Nostalgia set. An homage to a great musician and dancer.

This Quilt is 45" X 85.5" its made from table cloths and Denim. and of course its backed with some awesome festive Americana fabric.

36" X 55" 2009 My work often responds to the imagery we take for granted and the icons that evoke a response with simple still pictures. This piece is made with the intent to say that despite being made entirely from fabric and abstracted down to just a handful of colors it still shows a persona that those who recognize it will respond to based on their personal reactions to his and general politics.
