[On my bed #3] 2010

86" X 86" 2010 Applique over a pieced log cabin quilt. This is the 2010 piece in my series of self portraits for the bed. It won Honorable mention at Quilt Festival this year.

[Self Portrait #2] Tradition

[On my bed #1] Tradition 83" x 91" The generative methodology for this quilt came out of naptime revelry. I jumped out of bed and scribbled the idea down on a page of used notebook paper. The fabric came from either a box I found in a barn that I renovated or a bag of dresses that I found in my basement in my loft in Brooklyn-in the pile of trash out of the recently closed sweat shop. I used this one on my bed for the year of 2006.

[On My Bed #2] Cover

105"X105" 2007 This is the second in my yearly series of making a bed quilt with me on it and using it for a year. I slept under this quilt for the year 2007. The figure is life size.

[Self Portrait #3] August 19 1963

23" x 32" This is a self portrait. I like the way the background looks like a halo. speaks to my ego. It was the lighting from the ceiling lamp, but... the viewer gets the last word. [halo]

[Self Portrait #1] Blue Skies

84" x 120" blue skies the first quilt that I made This began the dynasty of my quilting. the fortuitous purchase of a box of cut squares of fabric [in blue black and red] led to 7 by 10 feet of me. you can see my influence by Chuck Close and my background in fine art/math.

[Commissions #13] Superman

This is a pannel for a Phonebooth. I was asked to create a pannel for an artists who is creating "gallery 206" a repurposed phonebooth with 206 artists participating. there are artists who created panels and some that created art for the book and some that created sound for the receiver. 206 in all. I created a piece that is different from each side as the light passes through. you can see the other with light passing through next.
